Job Description

The Learning & Development Trainer is primarily responsible for the development and delivery of HR developmental training for all Ergomed Group employees. Thus, ensuring that the development strategy for the Ergomed Group maintains compliance with global regulations, legislation, and Business requirements.

The L&D Trainer is responsible for ensuring that training is developed and maintained, to ensure that Egomed’s employees receive all the training they require to complete their assigned duties and to ensure that training meets Ergomed HR’s and Business unit’s needs. The L&D Trainer works cross functionally and globally to develop and enhance business and client training, resulting in improved customer satisfaction, quality of service and in compliance with Ergomed Group and client standards of excellence. The L&D Trainer ensures that employees receive relevant training at the appropriate point in their career and that training is delivered in the most appropriate format, so that it is effective and efficient.

In addition to supporting other Learning and Development activities, the L&D Trainer will also oversee all activities described, including but not limited to:

  • Works with L&D and HR management to develop and implement training initiatives, assess progress, and focus on the continuous improvement of training materials, programs, and processes.
  • Ensures that the required developmental and applicable technical training is implemented to achieve business objectives, improved performance and development of employees.
  • Working closely with the Head of L&D/Business Partners/L&D Coordinator to design    and communicate L&D initiatives through the relevant communication channels.
  • Review completed evaluation forms for each development event to identify  content gaps, and any additional learning and development needs within the organisation through the completion of training needs analysis via performance management scheme returns and feedback from managers and other staff.
  • Perform training of personnel as required (i.e., hands-on, Instructor-led, workshops, etc.).
  • Develop new training procedures and revises existing procedures as required.
  • Advising staff on training policies and procedures including resolving or supporting the resolution of problems related to the operation of the learning and organisation development area.
  • Ensure quality training responsibilities are conducted as described, whilst seeking ways to improve the Ergomed administration.

Management of L&D information /training data collection:

  • Responsibility for monitoring and evaluating learning and organisation development activities, producing accurate and up-to-date data analysis.
  • Assisting with periodic reporting as requested such as: creating and maintaining training activity logs/records, updating training records and ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date and producing reports as required.
  • Assisting with training systems to record and produce regular reports on learning and development metrics, including spend, to agreed timescales.

Learning & Development Projects and Events:

  • Responsibility for the development and delivery of a range of L&D training projects and regular events. This will include producing and keeping updated project plans, arranging meetings, and ensuring training systems and processes are established and projects delivered to agreed timescales.
  • Develops and identifies key performance indicators and provides reports to management with training metrics and other training information as required.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the organisation wide regular induction events for all new employees, ensuring the content is reviewed and updated continually in line with feedback received.
  • Assist with coordination of hospitality, room layout and equipment for participants attending workshops and events, liaison with trainers, booking training rooms, printing and distributing course materials and ensuring required equipment is available and in working order for the efficient running of all relevant events.
  • Ensuring virtual classrooms have been created in Go to Training or Zoom as defined by the training programme and the facilitator.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of training delivery data/ metrics in the global learning management system (LMS).

General:

  • Support the Director of L&D and business/ HR partners with training/ development projects as required, including ensuring that all training materials and content is accurate, up-to-date, and regularly maintained.
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with all staff to sustain the reputation of the HR L&D function as an employee focused function.
  • Attending meetings, taking notes and progressing actions as required.

Qualifications

Desirable Education

  • University degree in Biomedical sciences, Natural sciences or Health/ Social sciences is desired.
  • Learning and development qualification or equivalent experience
  • Psychology degrees or equivalent qualifications
  • PETLS or equivalent learning qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Has the ability to translate complex system process and procedure into digestible learner friendly content.
  • Experience in designing systems or software training.    
  • Proficient in developing training in a variety of formats.       
  • Experience in developing and leading training.
  • Excellent leadership qualities including skills in planning, mentoring, communication, and problem solving
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced, customer focussed environment
  • Must demonstrate professional presentation skills and deliver informative and balanced presentations

Desirable

  • Previous experience of managing training activities within a GxP environment.
  • Experience working within a learning and development / human resources function
  • Previous experience within a service provider environment
  • Experience of working with learning management systems / web portal content management (Knowledge)
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of learning and organisation development activities

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in Training delivery, HR or QA role within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry and knowledge of the clinical trials process.
  • Knowledge of CRO and Pharmacovigilance
  • Knowledge of MHRA/ FDA regulations and ICH/GCP guidelines preferred.
