About position

To be a key technical resource in the IT Infrastructure function to deliver secure, robust and compliant systems and services.

 Key functions and responsibilities:

• Provides third line support in IT.
• Provides training to IT Service Delivery team on supporting new technologies.
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure
• Troubleshoots issues in complex environments.
• Defines technical requirements based on business requirements.
• Defines resilient and reliable solutions
• Liaises with existing and new vendors to define and budget enhancements to new and existing systems.
• Provides technology consultancy to business and rest of IT.
• Establishes monitoring of key systems

• Expertise in multiple technology areas including:
• Server systems – Windows server (2008 onward).
• Microsoft Office 365
• Email – Exchange / Exchange 365
• Sharepoint (on premise and online
• Active Directory / LDAP
• Virtualisation technologies - HyperV
• Desktop / laptop systems – Windows
• Networking – WAN / LAN / WLAN / VPN Technologies / Proxy
• Security – Firewall / Antivirus / Encryption / Intrusion Detection
• Backup / restore (e.g Veeam)

Work with IT team members to ensure provision of a first class customer service & contribute to the development of the IT organisation to ensure it becomes the recognised champion of information provisio

Work with IT colleagues and management team in support of IT project

Work with appropriate external 3rd parties to ensure key suppliers work to our requirements, adding value to our business proposition as required.

The IT Senior Technical Consultant will report to the Group IT Director, Infrastructure.

We expect:

 Exposure to working with Quality management systems (knowledge of GxP / GAMP / 21 CFR Part 11 an advantage)

Exposure to or awareness of quality management process such as ISO9001 and ISO27001

Ability to coordinate complex tasks within the IT function and business as appropriate, including developing plans, coordinating resources, resolving issues and maintaining compliance to all relevant standards and methodologies

Fluency in written and spoken English

Proven capability in writing documentation

§  Awareness/Certification in ITIL processes

§  Proven communication skills are essential in this role
