Job Description
The Employment Unit Supervisor leads a team of employment services professionals—including Business Services Consultants, TEMP staff, Child Support Liaisons, and online Workshop Facilitators—to coordinate workforce programs that connect W-2 families to employment and training opportunities. This role oversees work experience site development, direct hire placements, and job skills/vocational training initiatives to enhance participant employability and long-term success.
- Supervise employment services staff and ensure alignment with W-2 program goals and performance standards.
- Coordinate workforce development programs including TEMP, Transitional Jobs, and vocational training initiatives.
- Oversee development and maintenance of work experience sites and employer partnerships.
- Facilitate direct hire placements and job readiness workshops to support participant employment outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to expand access to employment and training resources.
- Monitor program performance, staff productivity, and participant outcomes.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to employment services staff.
- Ensure compliance with W-2 policies, workforce program regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to strategic planning for employment services.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree in Workforce Development, Human Services, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment services, workforce development, or program supervision.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of local labor market trends and employer engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workforce tracking systems.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with W-2, TEMP, or other employment-focused public assistance programs.
- Familiarity with vocational training providers and job placement strategies.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) a plus.
