Job Description

This position is part of a growing, fast paced team, reporting directly to the Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and hands on tax accountant with a strong understanding of Federal and State Corporate Income Taxation. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Equinox brands tax obligations as well as assisting with accounting, research and planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of income tax workpapers and tax returns of federal corporate, state and local, and Canada.
  • Assist in the calculation of quarterly estimated income tax payments for states and local jurisdictions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely remittance of all tax returns, extension and estimate payments.
  • Prepare state modifications and apportionment calculations.
  • Calculate tax depreciation to support federal and numerous state and local tax filings for a very capital-intensive business.
  • Monitor and analyze federal, state and local tax legislation, regulations and cases.
  • Draft and coordinate responses to federal and state tax notices, assessments, audits, and inquiries, and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Assist in the analysis of DTA/DTLs for the quarterly and annual provisions.
  • Prepare & file business license returns, annual reports and other miscellaneous returns.
  • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues.
  • Provide support with internal & external audits and ad hoc special tax related projects such as credits and other tax incentives.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years corporate income tax experience, including working knowledge of SALT separate and combined income tax compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Federal separate and consolidated income tax compliance as well as ASC 740 is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Tax. CPA candidate is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365, OneStream, OneSource TAS (Tax Accounting System), and OneSource Income Tax/GoSystem Tax.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, expert in Excel with modeling and efficient spreadsheet usage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with corporate management and accounting.
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently or leading others in an organized manner.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multitask.

Pay Transparency: Min $90K - Max $95K
