Job Description

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for recording payroll, employee benefits, general and administrative and operating expenses and related variance analysis and GL reconciliations. This individual will also assist with monthly P&L reviews, quarterly reviews, year-end audit requests, and ad hoc research projects as they arise.

This individual will prepare month-end close tasks of the Company, including but not limited to recording expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

The candidate will be able to develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships with all levels in the Company and cross-functional departments such as Payroll, FP&A, Procurement, and Accounts Payable. Qualified candidates will have a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

This position will report directly to the Manager of Accounting at the Company’s corporate headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform key functions in the monthly close process including but not limited to payroll journals, prepaid expenses, recording corporate and operating expenses, and related balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations to support accrual, prepaid and cash balances.
  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile various expense accounts and prepare budget vs actuals analysis.
  • Build rapport with club managers to assist with monthly financial inquires.
  • Able to work and partner effectively with other departments, such as club General Managers, Payroll, Human Resources, Accounts Payable, FP&A, and Financial Reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of various schedules and supporting documentation for the external audit.
  • Work in partnership with and provide support for senior team members on other various financial and operating analyses and ad hoc projects
  • Assist with preparation of various schedules and supporting documentation for the external audit
  • Will work directly with several CPA, so will have opportunity to gain experience hours if a CPA candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a monthly end close accounting function and balance sheet reconciliation 
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of D365 Finance and Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX, a plus
  • Self-motivated, proactive thinker with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Work both independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to handle pressure and short deadlines with a positive attitude.
  • Exhibit willingness and ability to learn, adapt and improve the environment.
  • Great attention to detail and highly organized

Pay Transparency: Min $72K - Max $80K
