Job Description

Equinox Media, the first digital + physical fitness subscription featuring preeminent fitness content across modalities (cycling: SoulCycle; run: Precision Run; strength: Equinox, etc.), is seeking a Public Relations & Communications Manager to develop and support key PR initiatives that will build brand awareness across the U.S. Reporting to the Head of Public Relations & Communications, you will be responsible for crafting and executing impactful, noteworthy campaigns to strengthen positioning and brand relevance to drive the company’s growth.

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS

  • Develop and execute communications campaigns to fuel brand awareness, working closely with cross-functional teams and agencies to ensure projects stay on track and on strategy
  • Foster current relationships with key media “friendlies” while continually building new relationships with key journalists, influencers, publicists and VIPs
  • Maintain and organize calendar of new initiatives, press events, speaking engagements, awards submissions, and editorial calendars
  • Manage day-to-day activities, such as media monitoring, writing, pitching, partner relations, planning, press requests and events

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of work experience at a PR agency and/or in-house PR team
  • Strong relationships with consumer, business and tech media outlets on the national and local levels
  • Proven track record of securing top-tier media coverage and executing successful PR campaigns at the national and local levels
  • Positive attitude; passion for storytelling and being part of a growing brand
  • Experience drafting media assets, including press releases, media alerts, talking points, product fact sheets, tool kits, and briefing docs
  • Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
  • Have a key understanding of the ever-changing landscape of media relations
  • Experience in premium lifestyle, fitness/wellness and B2C subscription brands preferred
