Job Description

We are looking for energetic, creative, and enthusiastic FKO Lead Teachers to join the Equinox team at its state-of-the-art fitness club located at Sports Club Boston! This is a great position for a candidate looking to work with young children in an educational environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the implementation of curriculum and leads all class sessions.
• Communicate to assistant teachers a daily schedule of safe, creative and developmentally-appropriate activities for each day’s classes.
• Supervise and direct assistant teachers.
• Prep (or delegate preparation and be responsible for…) all necessary class materials (art, cooking projects, goodbye sheets…).
• Make equipment and supply recommendations, and report low inventory levels to the Manager on a monthly and timely basis.
• Maintain accurate attendance records for each class.
• Maintain a clean “back of the house” by implementing and overseeing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning and organization of the class props and materials.
• Supervise children, maintain a clean, safe environment and implement all safety training requirements.
• Communicate all Member concerns to Manager.
• Understand and support the child and the parent through separation process.
• Demonstrate understanding of For Kids Only philosophy.
• Promote classes and special events.
• Adhere to safety policies and practices.
• Greet children and members by name and respond to Member’s concerns, suggestions and complaints in a timely, professional and consistent manner.
• Consistently offer the highest level of personalized member service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic and helpful attitude.
• Demonstrate understanding of all points outlined in the Member Service Principles.
• Demonstrate awareness of the importance of membership sales and member retention; work to promote the Club in all areas.
• All other duties as assigned

 

Job consists of physical activities such as:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, etc.
  • Frequent repetitive movements.
  • Frequent movement, lifting or carrying of children or objects with weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Frequent exposure to and use of household cleaning products.
  • Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise.
  • Occasional exposure to blood or other bodily fluids.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:

  • College units in Child Development, Early Education or Child Development preferred.
  • Experience in working with children of multiple age ranges in a group setting.
  • CPR certification preferred
  • A warm and patient demeanor along with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in groups, occasionally under pressure.
  • Continuous interaction with members, employees, and managers.
