Salary circa £65k dependent on skills, qualifications and experience
We are the market leader in the hotel furniture manufacturing industry, working with clients such as Sheraton, Hilton, De Vere, Holiday Inn & Crowne Plaza. We have a 50,000 sq ft factory just 10 minutes from Leeds City Centre where we make high specification, bespoke hotel furniture. The pride and ability demonstrated by our workforce allows us to maintain a strong order book and drives forward our excellent reputation.
We are looking for an experienced senior project manager/quantity surveyor with the ability to make a difference, pro-actively lead projects to ensure we manage requirements, budgets, schedules and risks, whilst influencing others to deliver projects successfully and within budget.
As the Senior Project Manager on multiple simultaneous projects, you will be responsible overall for the planning, control, delivery and successful installation of the company’s projects. You will have extensive experience of working with client teams in a collaborative and integrated manner and will be required to lead our project managers and projects to achieve both our company and our clients’ requirements. You will be able to demonstrate clear and successful project management skills and technical competence, have proven ability to organise, influence and manage projects so that programmes are established and maintained within the project team to ensure timely delivery within a controlled budget.
You will be accountable for delivery of projects to contractual arrangements and the financial outcome agreed whilst ensuring projects achieve safe, sustainable and efficient outcomes that meet client satisfaction. You will provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers, responsible for large scale production and installation projects. You will also provide solutions to ensure that our projects run on time and to budget.
You will ensure threats and opportunities for successful delivery are identified at an early stage and are being regularly reviewed, and that risk mitigation actions are identified and undertaken by the project manager, responding to and dealing with any contractual/commercial risks as soon as they are identified and develop project risk management strategies.
You will have the commercial acumen to prepare bids and negotiate with and manage sub-contractors. You will be able to develop and maintain relationships with clients, peers and others who are influential in providing future business.
You will also be responsible for the development, training and management of a team of Project Managers and Installation Managers. You will have commercial responsibility for all non-manufacturing elements of the projects after the order has been secured.
Qualifications and work experience
You will have a degree in relevant quantity surveying or relevant management discipline and be registered with an appropriate professional institution. Having a post-graduate qualifications in APM/MSP/PMI/PRINCE2/Six Sigma would be an advantage.
You will have extensive experience of delivering medium to large sized fit out projects and have a proven track record of dealing with clients and forging effective and collaborative relationships in a professional and customer focused manner. You will be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills, including good written and oral communication.
Candidates must possess experience in the leadership and management of significant projects or programmes of work, have strong technical capability and excellent communication, problem solving and project / programme management skills, and be willing to take on new challenges.
Previous experience on Hotel Fit-out projects would be highly advantageous.
