Job Description
We are seeking an Nurse Unit Manager with a minimum of 3 years experience in mental health and 12 months experience in a leadership position to join our team to contribute to the provision of excellent, compassionate specialist mental health services. This is an 11 month fixed term contract, commencing in October 2026.
As a leader within our clinical team, you will have the support of a great team and management who are committed to facilitating a collegial, patient-centred, specialist mental health environment.
You will utilise your excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team and the Hospital Coordinators to facilitate safe, recovery focused mental health care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leadership of the mental health nursing team
- Management of the unit and coordination of patient care on a day to day basis
- Monitoring of and implementing strategies to achieve agreed KPIs
- Mentoring and coaching ANUMs
- Provision of support to and collaboration with our medical staff and allied health teams involved in the patient’s care to facilitate high quality, safe and compassionate care to patients and their families / carers
- Patient assessment and management of all clinical issues relating to the patient’s condition
- Active engagement in clinical governance and quality improvement activities

You will have:
- Current unrestricted AHPRA Nursing registration
- Previous mental health nursing experience
