Full-Time Fixed-Term Parental Leave Opportunity until October 2027 | Epworth Richmond

This exciting Grade 2 opportunity offers exposure to acute oncology, neurosurgery, stroke and progressive neurological conditions while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care. 

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 2 Acute Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team in a full-time fixed-term parental leave position until October 2027.

Reporting to the Grade 3 Neuro/Oncology Physiotherapy Stream Leader, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy care across our acute oncology and neurology/neurosurgery services, supporting patients through some of the most challenging stages of their healthcare journey.

You will work with patients admitted for:

  • Elective neurosurgical procedures
  • Stroke management and rehabilitation
  • Progressive neurological conditions
  • Oncology treatment and recovery

In This Role You Will:

  • Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy services to a varied and complex acute caseload
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centred care that supports recovery and wellbeing
  • Facilitate safe and efficient discharge planning to optimise patient outcomes and hospital flow
  • Supervise, mentor and support Grade 1 Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy students
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Promote best practice and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence

About You

You are an enthusiastic and motivated Grade 2 Physiotherapist with a strong interest in neurology and oncology. You bring excellent clinical reasoning skills, a commitment to continuous learning and a passion for delivering outstanding patient-centred care.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • Recent acute hospital experience, ideally within oncology and/or neurology
  • Experience supervising junior clinicians and Physiotherapy students
  • Demonstrated involvement in quality improvement, service development and/or research activities
  • Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Availability to participate in a rotating weekend roster

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council
  • Current physiotherapy registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
