Job Description
Join our team at Epworth Geelong and play a vital role in supporting outstanding patient care through accurate and efficient billing and revenue management.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated casual to work as an Advanced Patient Revenue Officer in our Medical Billing team. This role is ideal for a professional with advanced medical billing knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to patients, consultants, and stakeholders.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager-Medical Billing & Practice Support, you will be responsible for managing complex medical billing and debtor management processes while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
In this position, you will assess and interpret clinical care, accurately raise invoices & process payments while ensuring compliance with Medicare, Health Funds, DVA, TAC, and WorkCover requirements. You will also be responsible for investigating and following up unpaid invoices, managing claim rejections and coordinating resubmissions as required to achieve timely reimbursement.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency across Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn specialist software used within the department. Knowledge of Genie & iPM is highly desirable.
- Medicare and Health Fund rulings and billing interpretations.
- Previous relative experience in a medical billing role in the health insurance industry.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated lateral thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
