Job Description
Epworth Freemasons offers an exciting part-time opportunity for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in our 8-bed Intensive Care Unit based in East Melbourne. In this dynamic role, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to support the day-to-day operations and clinical leadership of our combined Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), and telemetry unit.
You will make an impact by:
- Leaning into the Nurse Unit Manager responsibilities where and when needed
- Leading the team through successful daily operations
- Effectively managing patient flow and adhering to clinical standards
- Overseeing the delivery of safe, evidence-based, person-centred care
For you to be successful in these roles…
You will be a good communicator, flexible in your approach and have natural ability to show compassion and empathy to patients. You’re keen to progress your career, learn how to lead an ICU and are open to mentoring and accessing internal leadership programs that support your journey. You will be required to work on a rotating schedule, covering day and night shifts from Monday to Sunday.
You will have:
- Relevant ICU experience
- Current unrestricted AHPRA Nursing registration
- Well-developed leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated clinical expertise with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
- Postgraduate Critical Care qualifications

Epworth Freemasons also offers comprehensive cancer care with a rapidly expanding haematology/oncology service offering stem cell transplantation, BiTE therapy clinical trials and CAR T delivery commencing in April 2024, plus a full range of surgical services where the VMO’s partner with ICU in the provision of acute medical and/or post-operative care to ensure the best patient experience and outcomes are achieved.

The annual salary range for full time ANUM – AUD $115,678- $119,579 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
