Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Sterilising Technicians (CSSD) to join our team at Epworth Eastern on a casual basis.  You will contribute to Infection prevention and control and overall patient safety by provision of quality reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes. You will support the theatre team by collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment. You will be a proactive member of a self-directed and cohesive CSSD team and report into CSSD management.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role:
You are an effective communicator who understands the importance of good listening skills. You believe in patient-centred care and this come through in your professional and positive approach to your work. Your ability to plan, organise and prioritise your work sees you deliver on multiple requests at any given time.

You will have:

  • Minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate III or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in CSSD.
  • Competence across all areas within CSSD, including scopes and surgical loans instrument reprocessing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in application of infection prevention and control practices as it relates to sterilising services.
  • High level of understanding and ability to apply workplace OHS requirements in sterilising services.
