Job Description
Epworth HealthCare is offering a fixed term (12 months) full-time position for a proactive Finance Assistant to support the Epworth Medical Foundation and Epworth Research groups. Reporting to the Finance Manager for Academic/Medical Services & Research, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing financial reconciliations, managing funding balances, and assisting with various financial transactions related to the Epworth Medical Foundation. Additionally, the Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in the expenditure management process for Epworth Research Trials and Studies, ensuring accurate budget tracking and a comprehensive financial approval process.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of financial information and reports for review by the Finance Manager for Academic/Medical Services & Research and the Executive Director, Epworth Medical Foundation
- Reconciliation of bank statements to donor funding, and endowment funds
- Coding and processing of invoices, and tracking against budgets
- Monitoring of term deposits and Capex from donated funds
- Ensuring adequate approvals have been sought for Research related expenditure
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and timely response to queries

Skills & Experience:
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Advanced data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate understanding of finance processes, procedures & reporting
- Intermediate level experience and knowledge of Excel
- Demonstrated ability to undertake financial analysis and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collate information
- Previous experience dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise deliverables
- A positive, cooperative and collaborative team member
- Professional work ethic and flexible work style

- Bookkeeping qualifications and/or
- Currently studying/recently completed a related course i.e. accounting, finance, economics, business, commerce and/or
- Experience in a similar role
