Job Description

There are currently casual chef positions based at Epworth Freemasons, where you will be responsible for ensuring the food services provided to our patients, visitors and staff is of the highest standards at all times. You will be part of the Food Services team and report to Head Chef.

You will make an impact by:

  • Being passionate about delivering exceptional food to boost the patient experience,
  • Being accountable in the quality of your meals prepared,
  • Being a team player and assisting colleagues as required,
  • Being innovative in preparing contemporary meals to improve the overall patient satisfaction  
  • Working independently and timely whilst maintaining our standards.

To be successful in this role…
You will have:

  • A certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
  • A Food Handler Certificate (Min - Level 1 Or willing to obtain)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Trade Cook
  • Hospital experience is essential.
  • Exceptional knowledge of all elements of cooking and serving, and strict adhered to food safety.
  • A solid understanding of allergens management and dietary requirements. 
  • Previous experience in all areas of production, ready to eat meals and cook fresh meals.
  • The availability to work a rotating seven-day roster including AM and PM shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • A professional, can do, team approach to your work
  • Drive to enhancing the patient experience through outstanding food service delivery
