The role:
As an ANUM, you will be responsible for providing team leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective management and ongoing development of our peri-operative team. You will join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, report to the Orthopaedic - Nurse Unit Manager and be part of our collaborative Clinical Leadership team.
You will make an impact by:
- Delivering exceptional patient experience and excellence in customer service.
- Role-modelling culture of safety & quality improvement
- Mentor and support nurses in developing their clinical and leadership capabilities.
- Collaborate with Senior leadership to drive innovation and optimise surgical workflows
- Assist in daily activity management of the Orthopaedic Scrub Scout team
- Play a key role in maintaining accreditation, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated leadership skills or Experience in a senior perioperative nursing role.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic team environment
- Be passionate about leading through, developing and guiding others
- Extensive orthopaedic scrub / scout experience
- Flexibility and excellent organisation and communication skills
- Committed to learning and developing current clinical practice
- Well-developed understanding of relevant professional standards
- Post graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing or working towards.
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA

Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University’s Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world-class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria. Our Single level Peri-operative environment consists of Two Endoscopy Suites, Nine Operating Theatres, A Hybrid Theatre, Cath Lab, Day Surgery Centre, Large Central Recovery Room, Digital CSSD.
Plus two additional theatres undergoing development, to meet increased demand for the excellence that Epworth Geelong provide to its patients and VMO’s.
Currently our specialities include: Orthopaedics, Neurosurgical, Vascular, Major General, Maxillofacial, ENT, Pain, Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Plastics, Gynaecological and Urology. We also have one of the largest robotic services in the South West region – Allowing our doctors to perform many types of complex procedures with more precision, flexibility and control than is possible with traditional procedures.

The annual salary range for full time ANUM – AUD $107,462 - $110,966 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position (prorated for part-time).
