Job Description

Epworth Rehabilitation now have 2 available Grade 2 Social Work positions:

  • Grade 2 Social Worker – Acquired Brain Injury, 0.5 FTE 19 hours per week, based at Richmond
  • Grade 2 Social Worker – Aged Care, 0.6 FTE 22.8 hours per week, based at Camberwell

There is possibility of working across other interesting clinical areas at our other rehabilitation sites.

Grade 2 Social Worker - ABI

Epworth Rehabilitation is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Grade 2 Social Worker to provide comprehensive social work services in the area of Acquired Brain Injury at Epworth Richmond.

This is a permanent part time position of 19 hours per week.

You will work in an energetic and cohesive clinical team that strives for excellence in patient care. The social work department offers a high level of clinical support and supervision, as well as a strong commitment to professional development activities and quality projects. Clinical responsibilities will include undertaking comprehensive psychosocial assessments, family work, outpatient work, and discharge planning as well as involvement in student supervision. The role will be predominantly based at Richmond Rehabilitation with the possibility of working across other interesting clinical areas at our other rehabilitation sites at Hawthorn and Camberwell.

You will make an impact by:

  • Undertaking comprehensive psychosocial assessments and complex discharge planning for ABI patients
  • Striving for patient and family inclusive practice in all stages of care
  • Engaging positively with all other colleagues to achieve best clinical outcomes
  • Supervising students
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • Extensive skills, enthusiasm and commitment to your work and embrace the opportunity to contribute to the positive culture at Epworth HealthCare
  • A minimum of three years of relevant social work experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or other healthcare setting
  • Clinical experience and/or knowledge in the area of brain injury and trauma rehabilitation would be highly regarded
  • Well-developed expertise in assessment, intervention and discharge planning for a complex patient cohort
  • Inherent knowledge required of compensable systems such as the TAC and Workcover, the NDIS, Centrelink, aged care, VCAT and other community agencies

Position Description       Inherent Requirements

Grade 2 Social Worker – Aged Care

Epworth Rehabilitation is seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Grade 2 Social Worker to provide comprehensive social work services at Epworth Camberwell.

This is a permanent part time position of 22.8 hours per week.

You will work in an energetic and cohesive clinical team that strives for excellence in patient care. The social work department offers a high level of clinical support and supervision, as well as a strong commitment to professional development activities and quality projects. The role will be predominantly based at Camberwell Rehabilitation with the possibility of working across other interesting clinical areas at our other rehabilitation sites at Hawthorn and Richmond.

You will make an impact by:

  • Undertaking comprehensive psychosocial assessments and complex discharge planning 
  • Striving for patient and family inclusive practice in all stages of care
  • Engaging positively with all other colleagues to achieve best clinical outcomes
  • Supervising students
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment

  • Inherent knowledge of aged care systems, compensable systems such as the TAC and Workcover, the NDIS, Centrelink, VCAT and other community agencies
