Job Description

At Epworth Geelong the Allied Health teams are co-located in the one area which encourages interdisciplinary collaborative care, and enables problem solving and learning. We have a small and supportive Allied Health team at Geelong, and strong ties with our Epworth network in Melbourne enabling growth, education and clinical guidance from other Occupational Therapists and specialist roles.

We are currently recruiting:

  • Casual OT - In this casual role, based in Geelong, you will be responsible for providing clinical care to acute general medical, oncology, neurology, orthopaedic and surgical patients. You will be part of the Epworth Geelong Occupational Therapy team and report to the Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3).
     
  • FIxed Term 12 month, part time Grade 1 or Grade 2 Occupational Therapist. 22.5 hours per week, based on our 29 bed Inpatient Rehab ward.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assessing patient performance within the hospital or home environment, and determining appropriate intervention and treatment to promote participation and independence
  • Actively seeking to understand patients' and their family's circumstances to enable the best outcome during inpatient stay and on discharge
  • Contributing to the development and modification of clinical services to meet patient and hospital requirements
  • Providing clinical leadership, and demonstrating consolidated skills that can be utilised to educate other occupational therapists, peers and students

To be successful in this role…

You are an experienced OT with strong communication skills and a supportive and engaging style that enables you to easily build rapport with your team, key stakeholders, patients and their families.  You keep up-to-date with best practice and have a passion for enhancing the patient experience through innovation.

You will have:

  • Hold current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Acute hospital experience, desirable  
  • Previous experience working within a team model of care
