Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced theatre technician looking to advance their career.  We are seeking a full-time Grade 6 Theatre Technician to join our exceptional perioperative team based at Box Hill. 

Reporting to the Theatre Utilisation Manager, in this role, you will be responsible for coaching and managing all aspects of the theatre technician team while delivering high-quality service, patient care and contribute to the overall performance of the operating suite.

You will make an impact by:

  • Building strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote and maintain the high quality service we deliver
  • Working in collaboration with their manager and senior managers (including business managers) to implement the unit budget in a manner that ensures all resources (human, financial and physical) are used to deliver safe, high quality clinical care in a cost-effective manner
  • Positive role model to all levels of staff in terms of commitment to the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Ability to build strong relationships to work collaboratively with colleague and direct reports

To be successful in this role:

We are seeking an effective communicator who can establish strong, trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and possesses a natural ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients.

  • Completed a Diploma level qualification in management (highly desirable) or working towards it.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dedicated to coaching and developing theatre technicians
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment and work practises
  • Strong customer focus to patients and support to carers and families
  • Coordinating theatre technicians’ rosters

Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility with 15 operating suites (including a hybrid theatre), which operates six days per week.  Epworth Eastern offers a broad range of surgical specialities including (but not limited to) orthopaedics, cardiothoracic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, ENT, general surgery, colorectal, spinal surgery, and vascular surgery.  Our redeveloped site delivers positive, meaningful, and sustainable impact on the health and well being of our community, delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbourne's east.

The annual salary range for Theatre Technician Manager – AUD $85,607 + super + entitlements dependent on year level (prorated for part-time).
