Job Description
Reporting to the Group Director of Hospitality Services, the role of Head Chef is to support the delivery of the highest standard of meals andmeal presentation to Epworth HealthCare patients, visitors, VMO’s and staff reflecting the vision and values of Epworth Healthcare. This is a hands-on position, leading, managing and motivating a skilled Chefs, Cooks and Food Services Team to achieve excellence, thus ensuring best practice, in high quality meal service delivery across the group.
This will be achieved by:
- Being a role model in setting high customer service standards to achieve high quality patient care.
- Working under the direction of the Group Director – Hospitality to deliver the highest standard of food and food preparation.
- Supporting and Assisting the Group Director - Hospitality in the development of menus that meet patient needs.
- Manage the food service operations across a 24-hour operating hours, through a workforce of chefs, cooks, apprentice chefs, Food services Associates and Team as guided by the Group Director - Hospitality.
- Be skilled and Available to Work across all Hours 7 days a Week and at other Sites as required.
- Supporting the Group Director – Hospitality in meeting all food and supplier related KPI’s and targets
- Working hands on in the kitchen to lead and deliver the highest possible outcomes.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of Epworth HealthCare’s internal culture and external reputation through:
- Demonstrating behaviors and attitudes that are consistent with Epworth’s Vision and Values and professional Hospitality Services philosophy.
- Working with the Group Director – Hospitality in order to build strong and trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, thus maintaining the reputation and brand of Epworth HealthCare.
- Supporting the Strategic & Operational Direction of the Group Director - Hospitality.
