Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sterilising (CSSD) Technician for a temporary part-time position until 20th January 2025.  Based in Epworth Geelong - Waurn Ponds, you will contribute to infection prevention and control and overall patient safety by provision of quality reusable medical devices through sterilization and disinfection processes. You will support the theatre team by collection, cleaning, decontamination, inspection, testing, packing, sterilisation, storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment and will be a proactive member of a self-directed and cohesive CSSD team.

  • Contributing to efficient work flow through the department regularly and utilise available resources effectively
  • Promoting and participating in all the required standards, quality activities, policies and procedures

To be successful in this role:
You are an effective communicator who understands the importance of good listening skills. You believe in patient-centred care and this come through in your professional and positive approach to your work. Your ability to plan, organise and prioritise your work sees you deliver on multiple requests at any given time.

You will have:

  • Sterilisation Services Certificate IV highly desirable or Certificate III in Sterilisation  
  • Proven experience in CSSD.
  • Competence across all areas within CSSD, including scopes and surgical loans instrument reprocessing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in application of infection prevention and control practices as it relates to sterilising services.
  • High level of understanding and ability to apply workplace OHS requirements in sterilising services.

The annual salary range for Instrument Technicians – AUD $63,000 - $68,850 + super + entitlements dependent on year level and qualifications. (pro-rated for part-time).
