Job Description

Epworth is looking for Grade 2 Clinical Neuropsychologists or Registrars to join our casual pool at Epworth HealthCare. These positions will provide exciting opportunities within the Rehabilitation Division located across three Melbourne locations (Richmond/Camberwell/Hawthorn), as well as Acute services in Richmond.

The psychology team at Epworth has a long history of providing high quality care to adults in acute and rehabilitation services. With more than 25 psychologists you will be joining a vibrant and dynamic team and will be given access to supervision and professional development opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience across a range of inpatient and outpatient services including traumatic brain injury, stroke, concussion, progressive neurological conditions and functional neurological disorder. Your work may include brief and long neuropsychology assessments, behaviour management, and interventions for people with persisting cognitive, emotional and behavioural symptoms following neurological conditions. Staff in the casual pool provide short or longer term cover for staff leave or to meet increased clinical demand.

Applicants will need to have capacity to work at different sites and with different clinical teams, with experience in a hospital setting desirable

You will make an impact by:

  • Using your well-developed clinical skills to deliver effective and evidence-based neuropsychology assessments and interventions for patients which contribute to their health and well-being

  • Working collaboratively with other team members to support client goals and functional outcomes in a multidisciplinary context

  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate standards of practice relating to patient admission, assessment, treatment, family liaison and discharge planning

  • Communicating effectively with your teams, patients, and families

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • General Psychologist registration with AHPRA with endorsement (or on a pathway to endorsement) in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Established neuropsychological assessment and intervention skills
  • An interest, and preferably experience, in delivering interventions for people with neurological conditions. Relevant training and support will be provided
  • Values centered approach around team work, compassionate and evidence based care
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
