Job Description

The Health Information Services (HIS) department is seeking a highly motivated and excellent receptionist to join our Richmond campus on a permanent full-time basis, working our operational business hours from 08:00am-04:06pm, Monday through to Friday. Please note, you will be required to work onsite in this position, there is no capability to support working from home in this role.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Monitoring and answering email requests regarding patient information.
  • Answering telephone enquiries.
  • Responding to information requests in accordance with the department’s release of information guidelines.
  • Assigning patient identification to documentation received by internal/external stakeholders.
  • Performing general department administration duties as required.   

To be successful in this role…

You will have:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role and excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner, and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders, both internal and external to Epworth
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office)
  • A solid work ethic, and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
  • Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures

Desirable (non-essential):

  • Previous experience as medical receptionist
  • Previous experience with a Patient Administration System (iPM, WebPAS, TrakCare) and a Scanned Medical Record (BOSSnet or CPF)
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
