Job Description

We are excited to offer opportunities to work within our Rehabilitation Speech Pathology & Dietetics department and as part of our wider multidisciplinary team!

Multiple opportunities available

  • Full time Grade 2 at our Richmond site
  • Fixed term (parental leave cover) Grade 2 at our Camberwell site
  • Casual Grade 1 or 2 positions available at Richmond 

These roles offer opportunities to assess, manage and provide client-centred intervention to inpatients and outpatients experiencing swallowing, communication and cognitive impairments following an acquired brain injury. If successful, you will be supported by a dedicated clinical supervisor, have access to professional development and be involved in quality improvement activities. Our speech pathology and dietetics team works collaboratively across the four Rehabilitation and Mental Health sites, as well as with the wider Epworth teams.

You will make an impact with your:

  • Strong knowledge of the impact of acquired brain injury on the person's complex rehabilitation journey
  • Ability to provide evidence-based, patient-centred care
  • Ability to work collaboratively and confidently within the multidisciplinary team
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

To be successful in the role, you will:

  • Have experience working in a sub-acute setting, across a variety of caseloads (eg: stroke, traumatic brain injury, non-stroke neurological conditions, head & neck oncology)
  • Be competent (or working towards) administering and interpreting swallowing videofluoroscopy
  • Show evidence of your commitment to your ongoing learning and skill development
  • Show accountability and compassion in the workplace
  • Show evidence of your involvement in supporting students and peers (Grade 2 roles only)

Qualifications

  • Have completed a Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology, or equivalent
  • Be eligible for Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) membership
