Job Description

Epworth HealthCare (Epworth) seeks casual or permanent enthusiastic Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Midwives with acute and/or midwifery experience, to join our high performing and highly valued Central Resource Unit (CRU).   

The CRU provides a flexible workforce, including nurses and midwives, to support Epworth clinical units.  With a choice of sites and specialities available, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality patient focused care.   

With the support of a dedicated CRU educator and courses available through our unique Nursing & Midwifery Academy, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills by working across a wide variety of specialities including orthopaedics, urology, maxillofacial, colorectal, vascular, general surgery, ENT, gynaecology, plastics, neurosurgery, complex pain management, general medical/ oncology, inpatient rehabilitation, neurology and maternity (Epworth Freemasons only). 

Casual or permanent pool opportunities are available within our CRU based at all our sites; Epworth Richmond, Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne), Epworth Eastern (Box Hill), Epworth Camberwell and Epworth Geelong.

To be successful in this role, you will… 

  • Have completed a Graduate Year (by commencement of work) or had 12 months of acute experience since graduation. 
  • Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in surgical/medical nursing care and/or midwifery, and the patient journey.  
  • Have recency of practise in acute, subacute or midwifery care contexts  
  • Have excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills  
  • Be teachable and have a willingness to learn and grow professionally  
  • Enjoy the challenge of working flexibly within a team environment.  
  • Possess a strong understanding and background of patient-centred care  
  • Have the ability to maintain a high level of communication with patients, staff, and visitors.  
  • Have well-developed time management and prioritisation skills  

Qualifications 

  • A current RN, RNM or EN qualification with AHPRA registration 
  • Permanent residency or Australian citizenship 
  • Possess a current Working with Children Check (Employee) 
  • Possess a current Police Check
