The Maternity Services department consists of 9 birth suites, 10 bed special care nursery, 34 bed postnatal unit and a 4 bed hospital in the Park Hyatt Hotel and currently accommodates approximately 3,000 births per annum. 

Job Description

Epworth Freemasons seeks a Full time , fixed-term (12 months) Nurse Practitioner to join our Urology Consultants Victoria team and to complement the outstanding patient-centred care, Nurse Practitioner model of care and efficiency in service delivery.

The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the medical and nursing team to provide holistic care to specific patient groups. This includes patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prescription of medications - all within scope of practice.

The role will contribute to ongoing service improvement through clinical and workforce innovation, to provide high quality and accessible care for the community.

You will have

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Nursing Midwifery Board (NMBA) approved Nurse Practitioner qualification at Master's Level or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in advanced nursing role and 5 years recent experience in Urology
  • Nurse Practitioner Medicare provider number and prescriber number (desirable)
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in clinical advancements particularly in the speciality of Urology
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire trust and confidence and build strong relationships with patients, their families and key internal & external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships to work collaboratively with peers and superiors, and to contribute to organisation-wide improvement and growth
  • Demonstrated willingness to educate undergraduate & postgraduate nurses, other health professionals, patients and families

The Urology Nurse Practitioner will:

  • facilitate an exceptional experience for patients and their families throughout their care journey
  • provide clinical nursing support during clinical presentations as required
  • work collaboratively with the medical, nursing and support teams to meet the specialty Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • have capability and commitment to build stakeholder relationships to promote the Epworth HealthCare brand and services
