Job Description
Working within Perioperative Services at Epworth Freemasons, this Acting Floor Coordinator role is to cover Maternity leave for 12 months commencing Monday Feb 5th 2024.

The Role
In this part time role,within Epworth Freemasons Perioperative Services , you will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Unit Managers and assisting in the overall clinical management and team leadership of DOSA admissions, two operating/procedure rooms, a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit and Short Stay Unit (SSU) with state-of-the-art equipment.
You will make an impact by:
- Having a strong leadership and clinical presence, delivering an exceptional patient experience within the department
- Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care
- Managing clinical risk and implementing process improvements to improve patient outcomes
- Working in collaboration with the key stakeholders and senior leadership teams to ensure patient care is integrated, safe, supportive and of high quality
- Being highly accountable, respectful, supportive and engaging
To be successful in this role…
You will either be in an Theatre Floor Coordinator ANUM role or looking to step into one. You are a good communicator, flexible in your approach and have natural ability to show compassion and empathy to patients and their families. You’re keen to progress your career, learn how to lead a unit and are open to mentoring and accessing internal leadership programs that support your journey.
You will have
- Current AHPRA registration
- A strong clinical background in anaesthetic, PACU and Scrub Scout nursing
- Previous experience working in the fertility industy (desirable)
- Previous leadership experience (2 years minimum)
- Contemporary knowledge of best practice in the PACU and anaesthetic setting, as well as the patient journey

About Epworth Freemasons
Epworth Freemasons consists of two sites. The Main Hospital is on Albert Street East Melbourne has a total of 12 operating theatres.The Victoria Parade site is just across the road and consists of an additional 6 theatres, including our Maternity wards.
Freemason’s primary specialities include: Orthopaedics, Gynaecology/ IVF, Urology, General, Plastics, ENT/ Maxfax Ophthalmology and Endoscopy. We also have two Da Vinci Robot’s at Freemasons and upskilling into this area is strongly supported. We have ICU + HDU on site. We also offer a Crisis Resource Management Education (4hr ) to new PACU/Anaesthetic staff. Car Parking is available on both sites at a discounted rate and easily accessible from Parliament Station.
