Epworth Freemasons is offering a unique opportunity for individuals at the HMO (Hospital Medical Officer), or PGY3 (Postgraduate Year 3) level to join our esteemed clinical haematology team for 12 months in February 2024. Potential option for part time 0.5 or full time 1.0 EFT.

You will undertake clinical haematology duties such as supervised ward rounds with consultants, day stay ward management, managing patients on clinical trials and research/audit activities. Opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art medical facility alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts. This role offers a unique chance to further develop your skills, knowledge, and experience in the field of Haematology while making a meaningful impact on patient care.
You will work closely with senior Haematologists and have close involvement in the following activities:
- Daily ward rounds
- Inpatient management of patients with haematological malignancies
- Review of haematology patients requiring chemotherapy administration & other procedures
- Medical Day Unit management (chemotherapy, transfusion, immunoglobulin, supportive care)
- Admission of new, review and research trial patients
- Option for outpatient clinic reviews
- Teaching medical students
- Research project work
- Audit activities, multi-disciplinary meetings and treatment-planning meetings
- Academic commitments (e.g., journal club) and teaching
Qualifications
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Three years post graduate experience
