We have an exciting new position for a Production Planning Coordinator to support customer orders from estimating through production. This position prepares quotes and job tickets, coordinates materials and tooling, maintains inventory, and assists with scheduling to help ensure jobs are accurate, efficient, and completed on time.
Job Description
Quoting & Production Planning: This role prepares accurate quotes based on press layout, printing method, colors, label size, materials, tooling, finishing requirements, and quantities, entering and following up on quotes in the company's ERP system. It also creates and reviews job tickets and production plans, confirming that specifications, files, materials, tooling, and instructions are complete before jobs are released to production.
Job Scheduling: The position assists with building daily and weekly schedules based on customer due dates, equipment capabilities, material availability, finishing and shipping needs, capacity, and efficiency, while monitoring job status and helping adjust priorities for equipment downtime, rush orders, material delays, or other production changes. It also promptly communicates schedule changes, delays, material concerns, or missing information to affected departments.
Inventory Management: This role purchases, tracks, and maintains paper, film, inks, tooling, and other production materials, working with suppliers on availability, lead times, delivery, and quality concerns. It also maintains raw material, tooling, stock label, and finished-goods inventories, creating jobs and purchase orders as needed.
Process Improvement & Team Support: The position helps identify efficient layouts, press assignments, job combinations, and production sequences that improve workflow and reduce waste or downtime. It also involves participating in production meetings, planning sessions, inventory reviews, and continuous-improvement efforts, plus providing backup support for other Production Planning functions and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or additional technical training preferred. Three years of experience in estimating, purchasing, scheduling, production planning, inventory control, or a related manufacturing role preferred. Printing, packaging, label, or other manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Strong organization, prioritization, communication, and follow-through skills. Ability to manage changing priorities with urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to perform general business math and calculations used in estimating, purchasing, and inventory management. Ability to work collaboratively across departments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with ERP, estimating, scheduling, or inventory systems preferred. Knowledge of printing processes, materials, and production workflow preferred.
Abilities: THIS ROLE IS ONSITE IN OMAHA, NE and requires the ability to work at our office at 132nd & L Street.
