Created by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 1986, Epicentre carries out field epidemiology, training and medical research in support of MSF's humanitarian objectives. We have 3 research centres in France, Niger and Uganda and epidemiologists on site. Our areas of expertise cover infectious diseases (malaria, TB, HIV, cholera, Ebola, etc.), neglected diseases (leishmaniasis, trypanosomiasis, etc.) and chronic diseases that are on the rise in African countries, such as diabetes and cancer. 

Job Description

Responsabilities :

  • Administer and maintain AWS cloud computing systems.
  • Administer and maintain with the IT Managers of the Niger and Uganda centers, the physical infrastructure set up within the Epicentre research centers.
  • Ensure the configuration, testing, validation and maintenance of IT systems and servers for the management of clinical research data according to Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP), the European Clinical Research. Infrastructure Network (ECRIN) and the 21 CRF-Part 11 standards.
  • Administer the data management and protection system under the General Data Protection Regulation and ensure the security of the systems in all research projects within Epicentre.
  • Work on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be written, implemented, documented and maintained, as well as the tasks of configuring and managing all IT tools (hardware and software) that make up Epicentre's Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS).
  • Work closely with Epicentre's research and computing teams to ensure the security of hosting environments, servers, user devices, and data.
  • Assist staff in meeting data protection needs, including encryption and user access permissions.
  • Coordinate and maintain the archiving of study-related data and documents in a long-term data repository.
  • Participate in the management of Epicentre clinical study data. 
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with the IT and data management teams at different Epicentre locations.

Qualifications

Your background and expérience : 

  • Similar high-level master's degree in computer science.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems administration, server configuration, database management, and computer networks.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux servers and environment.
  • Knowledge of computer networks (design, cabling, routing, security/fire) with SonicWall and CISCO equipment.
  • Knowledge of virtualization tools (e.g. VMWare ESXi).
  • ITIL and TOGAF knowledge.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Ansible, Terraform, and Batch Scripts.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as an IT Systems Administrator, preferably with international experience.
  • Good knowledge of good clinical practices.
  • Working knowledge of database and CDMA configuration and management, including REDCap and OpenClinica.
  • Willingness to learn relevant data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of clinical research data management.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Good organizational and teamwork skills.
