The job purpose

 You are looking for a meaningful professional experience?

Epicenter is conducting a randomized trial on the effectiveness of a microbiome-directed food (MDF) to promote sustained nutritional recovery among children with uncomplicated acute malnutrition in Maradi, Niger.

You will be responsible for the monitoring of trial progress and coordination with the Principal Investigator (PI) and field team to assure advancement of study activities according to protocol.

 

What you will bring :

Skills to perform your main activities:

Technical skills: You will help develop standard operating procedures and training materials according to the study protocol and Good Clinical Practice. You will follow study progress and troubleshoot difficulties that arise in the field through regular communication with the PI and field team.  You will prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external communication on study progress.

Team management skills: We will be counting on you to ensure the transfer of knowledge to team members.  You will demonstrate a capacity for collaboration with the team in Paris and Niger.

Education and experience: you hold a Doctorate in medicine and / or relevant PhD (e.g. in epidemiology, statistics, population health or nutrition) with field experience in humanitarian nutrition programs at least 2 to 5 years of experience in project management or equivalent.  Computer skills, knowledge and use of Good Clinical Practices, excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing are required.  Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.

 

You are appreciated for your adaptability, your rigor and your autonomy. You have a proven ability to work in a team and with colleagues with diverse profiles (epidemiologists, data entry operators, statisticians, etc.) and to demonstrate open-mindedness, curiosity. You know how to adapt to new situations and have a propensity for continuous improvement and innovation.

 

You have an interest in the humanitarian environment and nutrition, and you share and adhere to Epicentre/MSF's values.

Remuneration: according to the current salary scale, a gross monthly basis of € 4 061.96 with 13th month and meal vouchers.

The position is based in Paris with 2-3 trips to Niger per year.
