The General Manager will serve as the operational leader of the company, translating strategy into disciplined execution, strengthening cross-functional alignment, and building a high-performance culture that supports profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

This is a critical leadership role for someone who understands how to run complex operations, make sound decisions under pressure, and lead from the front.

What You Will Own

  • Lead the overall strategic and operational direction of the business in line with company goals.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and long-term business sustainability.
  • Translate business strategy into clear operating plans, budgets, and measurable performance targets.
  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, output, and cost discipline.
  • Ensure the optimal use of plant, machinery, labour, and raw materials across the operation.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across production, systems, and process flow.

  • Provide regular updates to the Managing Director and Board on performance, risks, priorities, and opportunities.
  • Represent the company with customers, suppliers, regulators, investors, and strategic partners.

Qualifications

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by strong business performance, disciplined execution, efficient plant operations, healthy margins, improved productivity, reliable supply continuity, sound financial control, low defect rates, and a culture where leaders take ownership and teams deliver consistently.

A strong General Manager in this role will bring structure, urgency, and clarity to the business while ensuring growth does not come at the expense of control, quality, or compliance.

Who You Are

You are a serious operator with the judgment, maturity, and leadership presence to run a complex manufacturing business. You think strategically, but you are equally strong in execution. You understand the link between operations, finance, people, and commercial performance, and you know how to align all four.

You are decisive without being careless, commercially aware without losing operational grip, and demanding without creating disorder. You build strong teams, set high standards, and hold people accountable. Most importantly, you know how to move a business from ambition to results.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Strong experience driving growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Solid understanding of business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Strong leadership and people management capability across multiple functions.
  • Strong operational excellence mindset, with experience in process improvement and performance management.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and execution discipline.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is an advantage.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in agro-processing, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred.
