Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
- To plan OTM movements as per Customer requirements
- To support Operations Team in maximising contractual obligations
- To plan and roster OTM crews
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Planning and allocation of crews and machinery to meet contractual requirements

Qualifications
Qualifications & Managerial Experience
- Knowledge and experience of the Railway Industry preferred
- Experience in planning, preferably in the Rail Industry
- A good understanding and (or) experience of planning software
- IT literate including knowledge of Microsoft systems and other databases
- Experience of Customer Relations
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Excel (Advanced) and Word
- Written and Verbal communication skills
- Good problem solving skills
- High attention to detail

Additional Information
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Formulating OTM plans from customer requirements
- Maximise OTM availability and number of planned shifts
- Meet contractual requirements relevant to the role and provide performance data and other information as required
- Limit use of external route conductors and source external route knowledge when required
- Ensure the required OTM competence is rostered to each OTM customer order (Both Traction and Route knowledge)
- Compliant with company policies and procedures
- Maintain documentation as required for the role
- To undertake training as required
- Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S
- Inform Manager of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control
- To liaise with the OTM Team Leader/Machine Managers, Planning & Control Manager, Operations Managers, Standards Managers, Maintenance Managers, OTM Crews and Controllers as necessary
- Rostering and crew allocation
- Ensure the ‘Rostering Guidelines’ are followed and adhered when creating a roster
- Ensure the Fatigue Risk Index is utilised to measure fatigue
- Liaise with Customers and third parties on a regular basis to ensure delivery of contractual requirements, as well as reporting of any problems as required.
- Accurate forecasting of operational shifts and external route conductor requirements
- To assist managers in other OTM planning activities
- To liaise with the Customer on a regular basis and report any problems as required
- Attend Network Rail Lockdown conferences as required
- To provide any statistical or other information as required
- To ensure electronic and manual filing systems/records are maintained for audit purposes
- To assist the OTM Planning Manager in providing draft related policies and procedures
