Job Description
Salary range $100,00-$110,000 based on qualifications and experience
The Onsite Project Manager will work full-time at a customer location, with responsibility to supervise and coordinate all activities for the receipt and shipment of hazardous waste materials in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations and company policies, practices and procedures. This position will execute environmental compliance tasks to support the customer’s environmental plans, permits and programs. The primary responsibilities will be management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions): The main duties and responsibilities.
· Acts as daily point of contact with customer and outside entities for environmental compliance activities
· Monitor waste accumulation areas, assisting as needed with identification, segregation, profiling, labeling and staging
· Assist with waste characterization of various waste streams
· Supervise, plan and schedule all work activities related to receipt and shipping of waste ensuring internal deadlines are met
· Work with on-site teams daily to monitor waste and recycling programs and maintain swaps and pickups as needed.
· Prepare and provide of customer data, metrics and/or reports as required
· Internally support and monitor customer requirements, to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met/exceeded
· Facilitate and conduct compliance inspections at the customer location and implement corrective actions based on results of compliance inspections
· Coordinate incoming waste and outbound loads including managing paperwork
· Conduct Safety Meetings to ensure that all employees comply with all job safe operating procedures including equipment maintenance.
· Ensure a clean and orderly work area is maintained at all times, proper chemical storage, proper labeling and handling techniques, and proper use of personal protective equipment
· Provide production reports to management
· Supervise the direct shipping, receiving, packaging, and processing of hazardous waste materials in compliance with standard operational procedures and regulatory requirements
· Supervise sampling for waste stream identification and perform spot testing to assure safe and appropriate consolidation of waste streams
· Supervise segregation, transfer and compacting procedures according to company policies, job safe practices, and quality assurance guidelines, and correct any deficiencies
· Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
· Report and respond to plant emergencies as needed in accordance with the Contingency Plan.
· Makes recommendations and/or approvals on salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals within their assigned areas.
· Promotes Safety and Security initiatives across the entire team within their assigned areas.
· Performs other related duties and/or project work as required or requested.
Work Environment:
· Willingness and ability to work in a hands-on manner to execute key initiatives and activities.
· Must be willing and able to abide by Clean Earth’s Core Values and Code of Conduct.
· Required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
· Willingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation as needed.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Skills:
· Education: (BA or BS degree required or preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental/Science or Business-related field
· Experience: (Required minimum of years of relevant experience.)
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience with hazardous waste
Minimum 3 years of experience in a business or project management-based role
Minimum 2 years of managing an operations team.
40-hour Hazwoper and 8-hour refresher certification
· Skills: (The skills listed are the abilities and knowledge required to perform the job effectively.)
Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, OSHA and DEA Regulations as they relate to waste characterization and the transportation of hazardous waste
Prior experience with DOT shipping, packaging, and labeling requirements for hazardous waste
Prior experience reading and interpreting signs, labels, waste documents, manifests, procedures, and regulations
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powe
