Job Description
As Centralized Routing Administrator, you’ll ensure that customers’ needs are met by preparing driver routes for 4 – 5 operation locations, factoring in operational capacities, customer urgency, and available resources. Establish and oversee productivity, service and safety targets for route and driver. Specifically, you will:
- Review weekly demand, volume and capacity for routes, determine potential gains from re-routing, and recommend re-routes to optimize service and efficiency.
- Set and monitor productivity, service, and safety targets for each route and driver
- Prioritize, plan, distribute, monitor, and follow up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
- Resolve missed pick-ups, additional pick-ups and urgent customer requests
- Develop and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs
- Monitor driver time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensure that drivers do not exceed limits established by regulatory agencies
Qualifications
Basic requirements:
Our qualified candidate with have a high school diploma or GED coupled with 5+ years of experience in transportation routing.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Associates degree in Transportation, Logistics, or closely related field of study
- Experience using Descartes or other routing software
- Experience in waste transportation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel, including experience setting up spreadsheets and using VLOOKUPS
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- Ability to anticipate customer needs, proactively meet those needs and initiate actions to increase customer satisfaction
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
