Job Description
The Central Profile Group Manager leads a team of professionals who manage the Waste Approval Process for Clean Earth’s internal facilities. The team’s responsibility is to review all intake and output of files ensuring they meet regulatory, permitting and acceptance parameters. The team serves as a liaison with various departments including Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics and Regulatory to ensure appropriate high output of profiles that meet the guidelines for various state and federal authorities.
Essential Functions:
- Overall responsibility for the Waste Approval process into our nationwide Hazardous Waste TSDF and 10-Day facility network
- Management of Waste Profile Specialists whose primary responsibility is the review and approval of all waste materials entering the company's facility network.
- Reviews waste profiles submitted by the generator to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provides regulatory review of EPA, DOT and State designations.
- Provides guidance for Regulatory Changes, when applicable
- Ensures waste materials are acceptable within the limitations of the designated facility permits.
- Maintain comprehensive metrics program utilized for continuous process improvements for the department as well as other departments that impact overall program success.
- Provide daily technical and regulatory support to the local offices, including sales, customer service, field technicians and plant staff with regards to handling specific or off-specification waste materials.
- Interact with local Materials Management personnel to facilitate approval of complex or problematic waste streams.
- Participate with Management on project initiatives to improve the overall flow and processing of waste materials through the organization.
- Monitor and support the company’s ongoing objective of best-in-class service for Waste Approval timeliness and compliance.
- Attends and actively participates in meetings regarding large customer initiatives.
- Responsible for new hire and continual training requirements for Waste Profile Specialists
- Develops, provides, and maintains training programs for the team (RCRA, DOT, State, Location Specific)
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree coupled with a minimum of 5+ years in waste disposal management.
- 3+ years’ experience in a management role
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Firm knowledge of RCRA, DOT, DEA, and OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of disposal and/or treatment technologies
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing work environment dedicated to client satisfaction and getting the job done.
- The ability to manage several tasks at once to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of SalesForce.com or familiarity with a related CRM system and practices
- Up to 10% travel to attend in-person business meetings as needed.
