Job Description
Under the direction of the Operations Manager or department supervisor, perform tasks to prepare lamps for recycling.
Essential Functions: Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to:
- Follow written procedures in line with policies and facility certifications.
- Meet or exceed daily production goals.
- Work with Shipping/Receiving, to streamline transfers to proper department.
- Sort and segregate recycling lamps into appropriate categories.
- Use appropriate methods to track and inventory materials within CycleLution.
- Package materials in preparation for outbound shipment.
- Attention to detail.
- Technical knowledge to identify products.
- Ability to perform sorting and packaging of different type of lamps.
- Assist Shipping & Receiving when needed for loading/unloading materials.
- Reliable, regular attendance required to meet business need.
- Occasional travel to customer locations for onsite service.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform other functions and projects that may be assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office/warehouse conditions with possible exposure to mercury or chemicals.
- Work area may be excessively warm in summer months.
- Fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- May spend extended periods of time on computer.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds minimum on regular basis.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours/day.
- Must be able to travel on occasion when needed.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to work overtime.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preference given to degree or advanced technical Training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Experience with 5S.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be forklift certified and familiar with plant safety procedures
Training:
- Must complete 24-hour Orientation
- Must complete 24-hour HazWoper
- Must complete 8-hour HazWoper refresher when needed
- Specific on-the-job training towards meeting established performance criteria
- Basic permit compliance
