Position Overview
This role is offering an exceptional opportunity to work within a progressive organisation with a team of dedicated professionals. The Fields Operations Manager is responsible for the delivery of high quality customer service as it pertains to commissioning of machines, Preventative and breakdown maintenance of MOW equipment, operations and maintenance of MOW equipment and support the Aftermarket Services business growth.
Principal Responsibilities
- Leadership and performance of Service team and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams.
- Execution of O&M and Service Contracts in a safe manner and profitably.
- Negotiating, finalizing and managing 3rd party contractor/contracts as it pertains to Operations and Maintenance.
- In conjunction with management ensuring the establish the Operations and Maintenance organization, recruitment, and development of personnel in the organization.
- Management of budget, P&L, and cash flows for the Service/O&M organization in line with forecasts.
- On-time commissioning of Machines.
- Performance on Annual Maintenance Contracts and Overhaul Projects.
- Provide active, timely, and strong support the Business Development efforts for Services and O&M contracts.
- Customer interfacing/management/troubleshooting as it pertains to field projects.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in MOW related Service Engineering/ Field Operations.
- Five (5) years’ experience managing Service or O&M teams or demonstrated experience working in heavy industries, mining and other engineering sector may be considered in lieu of MOW.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing Railway Projects (IR, DFCC, Metros or combinations).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar field or MBA. A Diploma (ITI) in engineering maybe considered with 15 years proven experience in Service and Field Operations management.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience and application of safety and risk management rules and procedure through engaging, promoting and enforcing with staff.
- Experience in the establishment and maintenance of effective and timely working relationships with internal/external stakeholders to ensure day-to-day requirements/expectations are met.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach, train, mentor and assess staff.
Desirable:
- Sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to various audiences.
- Monitoring performance of operations and identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Ability to make clear/sound decisions based on assessment of risks and mitigation steps.
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Five (5) years or more international experience in Railway Projects or alternately 5 years or more experience working with MNC.
