Job Description

The Consumer Title Auto Specialist position is responsible for accurate and timely preparation of all Motor Vehicle titled and non-titled auto related loan files to include evaluating member supplied information and all supporting documentation. The Consumer Auto Specialist will review all support documentation including but not limited to purchase orders, title work, lease buyout packages, and sales tax to assemble a completely documented file for closing. The Consumer Title Auto Specialist is also responsible for management of the motor vehicle lien perfections in accordance with the rules and regulations for all states, while protecting the credit union's collateral and reducing potential risk and loss. This position participates in ongoing compliance and titling training, and responsible for facilitating training for lending staff. This position is responsible for the funding and disbursement of loan proceeds and ensuring any liens on titles are released. This position also participates in ongoing DMV titling training and they are responsible for facilitating DMV training for lending staff.

Essential Functions

  • Process auto loans to include: Have an understanding of the calculating of sales tax based on city, state, and county requirements. Schedule loan closing by using Docusign, Ent Branch, or needing to mail loans for documented to be executed. Reviewing closing documents, while adhering to all state DMV policies. Analyze and complete all motor vehicle title documents, submit to appropriate County and state DMV's to ensure credit union lien perfection, and ensure member's ability to transfer ownership and register vehicle as applicable. Facilitate ongoing title training classes. Following up with Dealer, Members, other Financial Institutions for missing titles and title documents.
  • Manage outstanding motor vehicles title reports to ensure adherence of required fulfillment timelines.
  • Handles email and phone requests.
  • Maintain and specialize State to State title requests
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or similar preferred
  • 4+ years' experience motor vehicle titling / lien perfecting in a consumer lending environment, titling office, or dealership.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Mastery of motor vehicle documents and requirements for all transaction types such as Private party purchases, Dealer purchases, Lease buy-outs, Refinance transactions, and Free and clear titles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of auto loan products.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to train others, develop clear and concise policy, procedure, and training curriculum recommendations.
  • Strong ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to analyze member and state provided motor vehicle documentation.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is: $22 to $28 per Hour (S13)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.

This position is eligible for an incentive plan.
