Position Purpose:

Developing scopes of work, researching and estimating OEM/aftermarket parts, make repair recommendations and upsell additional services.                         

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:     

• Generate engineered work scope and labor/material estimate through coordination with sales department and customer interaction.
• Accurately assess hours and material per department required to start and complete projects.
• Generate repair solutions, value-added improvements, and new design concepts on existing heavy manufacturing equipment.
• Working directly with Regional Sales Managers to determine scope and cost
• Interact with purchasing, production, and accounting
• Report regularly on project quote status
• Establish realistic lead times based on current shop schedule

Education and Training, or Experience equivalent:          

• Four year BS Engineering degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience

Skills and Abilities:

• Possess a strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading, understanding dimensional and geometrical tolerancing.
• Ability to understand and navigate GA drawings.
• Experience with machining, welding and assembly practices of heavy industrial components and equipment.
• Able to manage a heavy case load based on customer requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills required.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Ability to quote multiple projects of varying degrees of difficulty and size at one time.
• Ability to work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible/adaptable to rapidly changing priorities
