Job Description

Position Purpose:

Provide customer that includes developing scopes of work, researching and estimating OEM/aftermarket parts, make repair recommendations and upsell additional services.                         

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Generate cost estimates for OEM/Aftermarket manufactured parts
  • Generate engineered work scope and labor/material estimate through coordination with sales department and customer interaction.
  • Generate repair solutions, value-added improvements, and new design concepts on existing heavy manufacturing equipment.
  • Working directly with Regional Sales Managers to determine scope and cost
  • Interact with purchasing, production, and accounting
  • Report regularly on project quote status

Qualifications

Education and Training, or Experience equivalent:          

  • Four year BS Engineering degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Read technical drawings and operate CAD programs to extract data required for estimating
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to mechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: ie: machining, welding, assembly
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering solutions.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Ability to analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Ability to quote multiple projects of varying degrees of difficulty and size at one time.
  • Ability to work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible/adaptable to rapidly changing priorities
