Job Description

Position Purpose:

Coordinate back office activities as it relates to industrial equipment installation, maintenance, and repair that occurs at customer facilities through a team of office based project managers. Key team member in oversite of field services activities to ensure a safe work environment, job execution efficiency, high quality service and increasing levels of customer and team member satisfaction.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Promote Environmental, Health & Safety objectives to ensure complete adherence to legal, regulatory and company policies.  Key team member of field service EHS continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversite of scheduling of all field service team members, tools and equipment regardless of dispatch location
  • Key team member on field service Operational Excellence Programs
  • Execution of quality verification and facilitation as it relates to project planning, deployment, and completion.
  • Key team member to communicate with sales, production, engineering, and field service team members as needed to ensure accuracy of resource availability
  • Key team member in scheduling/maintaining execution of a TPM program to support all field service tools and equipment stored at Kentucky and Lansing
  • Maintain awareness of PM and Technician skillsets and technical abilities to accurately schedule resources
  • Coordinate shipping of tools and equipment between facilities
  • Key team member in internal parts transfers as it relates to field service projects
  • Identify, communicate, and facilitate action plans regarding potential customer risks and high priority projects
  • Ensures documentation control within the field service organization
  • Key team member in process standardization, development, and implementation
  • Travel: Up to 25% overnight travel

Qualifications

Education and Training, or Experience equivalent:          

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 5+ years field service project management experience in a heavy machinery or heavy construction environment preferred and/or Four year BS Engineering degree

 Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Read and interpret SOW, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and project requirements
  • Familiar with MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) business
  • Analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team
  • Proven problem solver utilizing root cause analysis, countermeasures and verification for effectiveness techniques
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as workload dictates

Travel:

Home location close to Lansing, MI or Elizabethtown, KY.  Approximately 4 trips away from home location per year.  Additionally, some travel to customer locations required as deemed necessary.
