Job Description

How you will make an impact: 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing the daily activities of general accounting and all related duties which includes assisting in the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and the development and monitoring of internal control processes.

  • Maintain general ledger and review accounts for reasonableness, including maintaining adequate work papers and supporting documents.
  • Review of month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Calculate Work-In-Process for all of company’s project related activities.
  • Preparation of monthly Financial Statements for managements review.
  •  Assist in preparation of all internal and external audit requests.
  • Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset sub ledger.
  • Assist in the preparation of Personal Property and Payroll tax returns.
  • Assist in the establishment and enforcement of proper accounting methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining an effective control environment that complies with the testing and reporting requirements of SOX.
  • Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through SOX auditing.
  • Oversee counts of physical inventory and associated reconciliation.
  •  Backup to Purchasing and Payroll functions.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Qualifications

What you need to be sucessful: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and four plus years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or manufacturing.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Epicor a plus
