Job Description

About the role

This role will travel to customers’ facilities to lead, manage and provide hands on work regarding the process of disassembly, repair, and assembly of different stamping and/or forging press sub-assemblies. 100% travel required.  (Some local. Some out of state.)

An experienced candidate may be eligible for a signing bonus. 

  • Lead, manage, and supervise both customer and EIT employees in any maintenance and press repair actions
  • Act as a customer site liaison for daily activities and planning
  • Verify that parts are prepped, deburred and free from defect prior to assembly
  • Disassemble, assemble, repair, and rebuild presses and other manufacturing equipment from component parts
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Installs lubrication blocks, lines and general plumbing, (pneumatic, hydraulics and other)
  • Troubleshoots hydraulic lubrication systems to determine necessary repairs to regain functionality
  • Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs
  • Operate small lathes and mills to polish small parts and make key
  • Operate cranes, forklift and other rigging equipment

Qualifications

About you- Knowledge and abilities

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with repairing stamping and/or forging presses
  • Team lead/management experience a plus

Ability to:

  • troubleshoot machines to diagnose problems
  • demonstrate knowledge of basic electrical codes including knowledge of pulling wire, electrical components, switches, high voltage, and control centers
  • read and interpret schematics, plans, and operating manuals
  • fit fluid lines and pipes
  • assemble and disassemble parts and systems
  • “think outside of the box” and figure out problems associated with production operations

 Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as workload dictates
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors and Engineers
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work with solvents, oils and grease

Education, qualifications and certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and certifications a plus
