Job Description

Position Purpose:

Travel to customers’ facilities to provide on-site machining services with portable machining equipment

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Perform work in a safe manner wearing all required PPE at all times
  • Operate Enprotech conventional portable machining equipment and air tools exclusively at customer’s facilities.  This includes boring equipment, mills, journal squirrels, flange facers, etc…
  • Machining parts to specific tolerances
  • Determines reference points and direction of machine cutting paths
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining
  • Computes angular and linear dimensions
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Utilize basic hand tools including but not limited to ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, hydraulic torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks
  • Preform qualify work checks to insure the product meet quality  standard using process inspection tools and devices
  • Perform work as part of team of skilled trades workers
  • 100% travel required  (Some local.  Some out of state.)

Qualifications

 Education and Training, or Experience equivalent:         

  •  High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and certifications a plus
  • 5 years minimum of skilled trades or like experience

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations using industry standard methods and procedures
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklift and other rigging equipment
  • Ability to meet production requirements as specified

Other Qualifications

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as workload dictates
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with team members, supervisors and Engineers
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work with solvents, oils and grease
