Job Description

This position serve our Lansing, MI facility.  All jobs will be off site, so physical employee location is not important as long as in Michigan, North-West Ohio, Northern Indiana or North-East Illinois.

Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.

About the Job

  • 100% travel required.  (Some local.  Some out of state.)
  • Verify and prepare all parts required for assembly operations.
  • Assemble, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment from component parts in accordance with standard operating procedures to customer’s specifications.
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards, using in process inspection tools and devices.
  • Work with shop equipment and power tools

Qualifications

Training & Education
High school diploma or equivalent, technical training  and certifications a plus

 Experience and Skills 

  • 5 or more years of Millwright, press assembly or mechanic experience in a related field
  • Ability to use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures.
  • Ability to read, interpreting variety of assembly prints and understanding verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess the physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment and tools
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as work load dictates.
  • Qualified candidates are required to have a good driving record & pass a DOT Medical Certification exam.
