Job Description

Staff Accountant position will ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of assets, revenue, liability, and expense.  The Staff Accountant will also have an active role in supporting a number of individuals, departments and subsidiaries. 

  • Perform the activities of month end close; including: making journal entries, reviewing account balances and analyzing financial data.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial packages to management team.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis.
  • Prepare federal, state and local tax returns.
  • Monitor daily cash balances and determine funding requirements.
  • Work with accounts payable and purchasing to properly setup new vendors.
  • Assist with budget and forecast creation and reporting process.
  • Preform testing for internal JSOX controls.
  • Support external annual audit and assist in preparation of GAAP financial statements.
  • Perform special projects as required by CFO, controller or other management.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting. 
  • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills, most notably Excel, with the ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ability to be flexible to adjust priorities based on business needs.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Some travel to subsidiaries will be required.
