Job Description

Position Purpose:

Designs, develops, or modifies machinery or products by applying engineering principles and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

About the role

  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. 
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. 
  • Determines feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Conducts engineering studies (such as FEA) on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
  • Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design..
  • Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, such as engines, equipment, machines, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
  • Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design. Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.

Knowledge and abilities

Ability to

  •  apply engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes.
  • determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses
  • use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs. Must be proficient in Solid Works design software and capable in AutoCad Mechanical.
  • apply effective project management skills
  • apply budgeting cost analysis and expenditure
  • to prepare interim and completion project reports.
  • to use effective oral and written communication skills  
  • to use effective organizational & time management skills
  • to travel by car and plane

Education, qualifications and certifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

  • 3-5 Years of Mechanical or Design Engineering Experience
