Job Description

  • Work with capex quote department to confirm clear concise proposal generation to insure costing and delivery expectations are bid correctly to aid in order fulfilment once projects are won
  • Work as liaison between sales and production prior to order acceptance to align customers’ expectations with productions scheduling needs
  • Manage pre-order alert meetings to insure projects are well defined and timings agreed prior to order entry
  • Work with inside sales team at order entry to insure clearly defined deliverables (products and services) and the timing required to meet  customer expectations
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Gather required project data (electrical, mechanical etc.) in advance of kickoff meetings
  • Coordinate kick-off meetings once orders are entered to insure clear communication of deliverables and timing as well as defining  ownership of assemblies
  • Prepare, distribute and keep current project Gant charts
  • Plan and maintain the “job” in Epicor
  • Schedule and lead weekly meetings for the front office as well as assembly production groups
  • Manage change orders and any conflicts that may arise directly with customer during order fulfilment keeping outside sales in the loop
  • Quickly recognize potential problems during the fulfillment process and escalate within the company and insure satisfactory resolution
  • Organize and be an integral part of FAT testing to insure products meet original job specifications and insure customer satisfaction prior to shipment
  • Insure customer schedule for install/commissioning is known, remains accurate, and our service department is in the loop 
  • Insure product documentation is on site prior to commissioning to insure smooth startup and after sale customer satisfaction for future parts orders
  • Manage any final punch lists to insure project completion in a timely manner
  • Gain project completion signoff from customer
  • Lead postmortem meetings and share learning from each project 
  • Other duties as requested by the Business Development Manager 

Qualifications

  • 2-4 year degree preferred
  • 5 years of proven working experience as a Project Manager in a manufacturing/packaging equipment machinery environment
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with individuals and in teams.   Must be comfortable communicating both formally and informally within all levels of customer organizations.
  • Must be self-directed and have the desire to take on new challenges without being prompted and exhibit a strong work ethic.  Need to have a strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with MS Projects (or similar) a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
