Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Director of Dynamics 365 F&O ERP (f/m/x) to lead some of our key
Dynamics 365 F&O ERP projects as we scale. You'll guide technical strategy while building empowered teams that deliver real impact for our mission of making solar energy accessible to everyone. 

We are looking for people with excellent technical and people-leadership skills. Aligning architecture across the ERP team is a key part of the role. 

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership & ERP Architecture

  • Own the technical direction of the ERP domain built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, ensuring the platform evolves in line with Enpal’s rapidly scaling operational landscape.
  • Act as the technical authority for ERP architecture, able to deeply understand and discuss the domain, system behaviour, and architectural trade-offs with engineers, architects and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead the design of ERP system architecture, including integrations with external platforms across finance, operations, logistics, and sales.
  • Define and guide integration patterns across the ERP ecosystem, ensuring reliable and scalable communication between Dynamics F&O and surrounding services.
  • Review RFCs, shape architectural decisions, and guide the evolution of domain boundaries as the platform grows.
  • Represent the ERP domain in critical technical discussions and decision-making forums across the organisation.
  • Drive the shift from project-based ERP implementations to a modern product-oriented ERP platform, enabling faster delivery and long-term maintainability.

Team Development & Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a group of Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, and ERP specialists within the domain.
  • Support teams in building deep domain knowledge across ERP architecture, integrations, and operational workflows.
  • Create an environment of technical ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the teams.
  • Scale the organisation thoughtfully as the ERP domain expands 30-50% over the next 12 months, ensuring strong technical leadership at every layer.

Stakeholder Partnership & Domain Alignment

  • Partner closely with the business Product counterpart responsible for ERP functionality, aligning technical architecture with operational and financial business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, sales, operations, logistics and fulfilment to ensure ERP systems support Enpal’s complex multi-entity operating model.
  • Provide clear technical guidance and transparent decision-making when navigating trade-offs between business priorities, architectural integrity, and delivery timelines.
  • Represent the ERP domain in discussions across multiple Enpal entities and leadership teams, ensuring alignment across a highly distributed organisational structure.

Operational Excellence & Platform Reliability

  • Drive improvements in engineering standards, platform reliability, and operational maturity across the ERP domain.
  • Strengthen incident management, system resilience, and security posture for a mission-critical business platform.
  • Balance immediate operational requirements with long-term system scalability and architectural health.
  • Own domain-level planning and delivery in alignment with quarterly planning cycles and company growth objectives.
  • Define metrics and operational practices that measure both engineering effectiveness and business impact.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We value candidates who have experienced scaling challenges firsthand, ideally having seen both nimble, fast-moving, agile environments, and structured, methodical organizations.

Technical Foundation

  • Experience as an individual contributor for a significant part of career, being able to reason about systems and integrations on the level of an experienced senior engineer.
  • Ability to review technical proposals and participate meaningfully in discussions
  • Experience with microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, and integration patterns

Leadership Experience

  • 3+ years managing multiple engineering teams (3+ teams, 20+ engineers total) and managing managers
  • Track record of scaling teams and processes in high-growth environments
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

Business & Product Thinking

  • Strong planning and execution skills with focus on business impact over technical novelty
  • Track record of delivery of complex projects in reasonable budget, time and scope constraints
  • Experience translating complex business objectives into actionable technical initiatives
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments while providing clear direction

Cultural Fit

  • Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus)
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainable technology
